Kits
Everton have worn a variety of different kits since their formation (as St Domingo's FC) in 1878.
Some have been works of art - think of the beautiful, stylish simplicity of the 1969-70 championship winning outfit. Others have been appalling; none more so than the 1985-86 'Gary Lineker' kit, which some people believe was the real reason why we blew the double in that season! Dave Moor, the founder of Historical Football Kits, has put together one of the most fascinating websites you could ever wish to see. It documents the development of kits worn by teams who have played first-class football in England and Scotland, and has images showing just about every kit ever worn by all the clubs who have appeared in those Leagues. It also has fascinating articles, not just on things like the best and worst kits of all time, but also about the history of the clubs themselves. The images below are all taken directly from the site, are all the copyright of Dave Moor and are all reproduced here with his kind permission. They provide a fascinating breakdown of the way in which our kit has developed over the decades. The site is constantly changing as newly researched material comes to light and as and when Dave upgrades the images - so do go and look at the site itself in case the images have been amended or updated.
